Monday Links
It’s Easter Monday in our house.
I don’t know who invented this holiday but it’s the best one. There’s no reason for it. Nothing to celebrate. No church service or memorial service to go to. No big turkey dinner to prepare. Just leftovers and sloth.
So I’ve spent a little bit of this morning, before I settle in to write the next scene in my short contemporary, checking out writing links from last week:
Agent Rachelle Gardner writes about Making a Living as a Writer, Park One, Part Two, Part Three .
Media Bistro has an interview with Amanda Hocking where she talks about her online marketing.
The Superromance blog has a post by Assistant Piya Campana about the Do’s and Don’ts of Submitting to that line.
Fast Track Submission for Harlequin Romance is ongoing on the eharlequin board.
Do you have a good writing link? of blog? to share?
So You Think You Can Write
Harlequin’s next online contest starts on Monday, Nov 7 th and runs all week:
One big difference in the rules this year compared to last? The submission must be a full manuscript. Not the first chapter and synopsis required in the 2010 contest. AND the big difference. The winner gets a contract to publish the book. Pretty cool prize.
Aach!
It can be a manuscript previously submitted. I do have one of those. Needs revisions suggested by an editor which haven’t been done. And I don’t have a whole lot of enthusiasm for revisiting it. I have a half-finished MS for Presents. Don’t think six weeks ( deadline is Dec 15 ) is enough for me to finish it and polish it.
Hmm, how about you?
Will you be entering the contest?
